Hello everyone,

I am planning to design a website using PHP & MySQL. I do not know well about PHP & MySQL. But, I am having Programming Skills. I can learn them quickly.

Please advice me on the following:

1. Domain name & Web Hosting account (Minimum Cost, How to buy & Genuine Providers)
2. SEO(Search Engine Optimization) (Tips & Tricks)

Thank you.

Regards,
Balaji S

1. Try http://ipage.mestore.us only 3.50 per month, everything u need

2. As far as SEO you want to get alot of links to your website from anywhere.
respected websites are better. relevant websites are better
Use google keyword tool to find the right keywords. you want to use 2 or 3-word phrases rather than single words. Put the keywords everywhere – title, description, link text etc. within your page

    Hey Balaji,

If you are just starting to learn PHP & MySQL, there is no need to go out and buy a domain name/web hosting immediately.

In the meantime you can download WAMP server (or MAMP for Macs) and create your site/database right on your computer. Trust me, learning is a lot faster when you don’t need to constantly FTP your changes to see them happen.

When it does come to the time when you want a host, try reading reviews at CNET.

I’ve trusted them with everything else (downloading software, buying a TV), why not webhosting. NOTE: Dirt cheap web hosting is never that great.

SEO is a little bit ‘voodoo’, but 99% of it has to do with the frontend of your site (the HTML):
    - Use heading tags (<h1>,<h2>,etc)
    - Use alt tags on images.
    - Use a minimalist HTML coding style, (put most of your code in your CSS), this will keep your code/content ratio at a good state.
    - Create an XML sitemap of your site and submit it to all of the popular search engines.
    - Make sure you use descriptive (but not too long) HTML title tags for each page, make sure the important parts are first.
    - Give each page unique META descriptions/tags (most search engines don’t really use these anymore for ranking)

For web hosting and domain registration, I’d suggest you to try FatCow. You can also get free google adwords with their package which will help in SEO. FatCow offers very fast and highest uptime website hosting deals. I’ve hosted a few websites on their servers, so far no problems at all. Their technical support at the server end is very prompt and they are quick in any resolution.

you can check the domain availability at domaincheck.com and then you have to contact sites or known persons to buy hosting for your domain.

After that you have to do off-page and on-page optimization.
First of all do the On-page optimization by adding meta tags in head tag. Add the following meta tags:
    Keywords
    Title
    Description
    Atl Tag

Then Off-page optimization contains link building step.

By this you can do the on-page and off-page optimization.
