what are good places to see/do stuff in Maui, Kona, or Hawaii? and things like FAMILY stuff . we don’t want to
go on hikes, what are good beaches? and which beaches
have lots and lots and shells?
You might want to investigate the guide books this place puts out. I recommend them to all that ask which guidebook is the best. Well written guidebooks that cover Oahu or Maui or Hawaii (Big Island). Very candid, honest and well liked by those who used them.
You can find them at Barnes and Noble and similar chains. Worth the $$$
If you want beautiful secluded beaches you may want to stay on Maui.

It’s an Island there are beaches everywhere just pick one!! You can rent a catamaran a guy will take you out for an hour! I can’t remember how much it costs but it’s reasonable!! There are tourist information sites set up all over the Island you’ll find something to do!! You won’t see many shells the beaches are lovely white sand !! Buy yourself a snorkel and flippers so you can see under the water. The water is so salty it will sting your eyes if you try and open them under water!! The water is so clear and warm you are going to love it!! The most expensive thing there is the food even the fast food places are expensive !!

in maui , kaanapali beach is very beautiful. there is a tour there by boat to Malokini (not sure spelling right) the crescent shaped island that is for snorkeling. there is a bbq lunch included and it’s about 1/2 day. this is a GREAT tour to sign up for. You will have to get farther away from the hotels to get shells as most hotels clean them up before the guests get to the beaches. Shells are inexpensive in the stores and they are already polished / beautiful , so most buy them there. a Laoua is also a fun family experience. they have an evening sort of bbq and they have a show of hawaiian dancers on the beach. there are fun activities for kids, face painting , games, etc. it’s a fun expereince to try one time.
there is also a trip to a waterfalls area where people dive . it’s part or near a cultural center for hawaii. also good to see one time.
kona is on the big island of hawaii. there are several little coffee shops on the main roads as you drive , stop at a couple of these , have a cup of coffee and sit on their terraces that overlook the ocean. they are look out points and it’s quite beautiful.
a tour of a pineapple plantation is also nice for a family.

The black sand beaches in Hana, Maui are amazing. Do the drive to Hana, have a picnic….go to Iao Valley, do the Haleakala Crater at sunrise. The Maui Aquarium is really nice. Makena Beach is nice too.
